In recent years "Labyrinth" has extended itself to other lands apart from its natural home Greece. There is now an Australian and a Spanish "Labyrinth". These projects are both connected to the Greek "Labyrinth" but are also independent entities in their own right. The Australian "Labyrinth" owes its existence to the initiative of Philip Griffin, an oud, laouto, and tambura player who studied with Ross Daly in Greece, Germany, and Israel in seminars and workshops. He has also traveled extensively in Greece and elsewhere studying various local styles of playing on the instruments of his choice. In 2001 he invited Ross Daly and Kelly Thoma to tour Australia together with himself and 2 other excellent Australian musicians: Linsey Pollak and Tunji Beier.
